GLRFH 5v5 Play Day was fun for all levels

March 8, 2023

The fields were full in the Dome at Legacy Center Sports Complex (Brighton, MI) last Wednesday, as six middle school teams, four high school teams, and four adult teams participated in a lively 5v5 Play Day to celebrate the final winter field hockey training session for the season. Since November, GLRFH has been running weekly training sessions for youth (K-12th) and also for adults at Legacy Center.

Teams were divided by coaches and a game schedule was sent out consisting of four 22-minute games. Players had the opportunity to meet new teammates, get creative with team names, and enjoy working together in a competitive and fun atmosphere.

Adults took to the fields as youth players were finishing, and ran two fields of 5v5 play before moving to a full-field 11v11 match.

As winter programming comes to an end and spring play begins outdoors in April, look for youth 7v7 leagues near you! Legacy Legends 3rd/4th & 5th/6th grade teams are currently open for registration. Be sure to check out our GLRFH calendar for open play opportunities in your area.

Parents of middle school players! We want your feedback on middle school interest for future programming at Legacy Center. Please fill out this form and let us know your thoughts. Thank you for helping us build programming around your needs!
