VARSITY Field Hockey Coach, Cranbrook Kingswood, Bloomfield Hills

HEAD GIRLS' VARSITY FIELD HOCKEY COACH POSITION:

Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School is seeking applicants passionate about coaching for our Varsity Field Hockey team for the 2024 season. Cranbrook has a proud athletic tradition that includes hundreds of conference, district, and regional titles. We have won an incredible 101 State Championships in seven different sports and have outstanding athletic facilities. Our Field Hockey team plays games on the historic Thompson Oval, one of the most iconic fields in Michigan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coaching responsibilities include management of all facets of the Field Hockey program but are not limited to:

· Building competitive teams.

· Organizing and running practices.

· Developing and implementing effective game strategies.

· Supervising and utilizing assistant coaches.

· Developing player skills, technique, and knowledge of the game.

EXPECTATIONS:

Maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management. Foster a culture that promotes the school's values and the student's academic experience. Intentionally integrate school core values as the framework for coaching and building athletic program.

REQUIREMENTS:

Successful candidates will have at least three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level or in a club setting. Candidates with ties to youth and club field hockey in the Detroit area will be given strong consideration. Candidates should have demonstrated communication and community relations abilities and work effectively with students, staff, administration, and parents.

The Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach will work under the supervision of the Athletic Director in accordance with Father Gabriel Richard High School’s Catholic mission. The Field Hockey Coach must realize and appreciate the need for the Field Hockey program to work with other sports as a complement to the entire athletic department

Experience as a coach preferred

Coaching certification preferred
Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators and public
Experience in budgeting, inventory and statistical data
Maintain high level of ethical behavior
Available to work a flexible schedule including afternoon/evening/weekends
Perform other duties as assigned by athletic director
